featherxquill: *Pokes Comm*

Title: Mirror Image
Perpetrator: StrawberryBlondeHazelEyes (really, doesn't that say it all?)

Link: Revel in the crapulence

What It's Claiming to be: A serious story about a case, and a realistic view of the interactions of the team.

What It Actually Is: An excuse to put a Mary Sue in NCIS land.

Choice Highlights: She had bright hazel eyes that shined in the sunlight. She breathed in the crisp morning air. Her hands strayed to her waist, and she pulled a water bottle up to her rose red lips.

A shot rang out through the air, and suddenly, her body was pressed against the pavement. She could feel her heart beat speed up. Scrapes and cuts stung all along her legs and arms. She could feel the blood drip from cheek.

Well, I almost thought that the author knew just what to do to Mary-Sues, but alas, she lives, and she looks EXACTLY like KATE.

Evilness Rating: Well, there's only three short chapters, so not mauch time for the breaking of wrists. But I wanted to break someone's wrists when Gibbs assualted a member of his team.

But I wanted to break someone's wrists when Gibbs assualted a member of his team.

Wait, wait, wait--the fuck you say?!

*eyes fic* As Granny Weatherwax says, I can't be havin' with this.

Tue, Jun. 14th, 2005 04:00 am (UTC)

Well, he only hit Tony upside the head, but still - that is SO not Gibbs.

Tue, Jun. 14th, 2005 04:04 am (UTC)

Huh? But Gibbs smacks Tony upside the head all the time.

Tue, Jun. 14th, 2005 06:38 am (UTC)

Does he? I was thinking that when I posted, but I couldn't actually remember it happening. I know he threatens to all the time, but does he actually do it?

I do have a crap memory, and perhaps I'm not very observant, so I could very well be wrong.

Tue, Jun. 14th, 2005 06:49 am (UTC)

Oh, he definitely does. *grin* In fact, Gibbs is the only person who's allowed to smack Tony upside the head with impunity. In Reveille, when Kate smacks Tony for stealing her French fries, he says, "Hey! You're not Gibbs!"

And in See No Evil, after smacking McGee, he says, "I could get used to that."

So it happens--not frequently, but often enough that it's a regular thing.

mezzo_fic: dag...

This is by three different people under a new name.

And I'm taking particular exception to the Unsubstantiated Gossip Item listed...FF.net is NOT a gossip column, to my knowledge.

if you don't like him, then stick to Season 1 fics...or leave him out entirely...sheesh

I tried to link to this bio...duuuh...

another reason to blog instead of post there...sadly...

Mon, Jun. 13th, 2005 04:26 pm (UTC)

well I think the *real* mary sue is going to be the daughter.
I think Kate going undercover like that would be interesting. If you leave out the teenage daughter. And the exact look alike thing is a bit of a stretch. Too much of a stretch, if you ask me. Serial killer and they look a *lot* alike. Sure. I'm there. But a long lost twin or something? meh.

not to mention the horrible OOC-ness.

Mon, Jun. 13th, 2005 09:14 pm (UTC)

I reveled. Now I need a shower. :) I'll go seeking things for the comm, though, since I have a sick obsession with both NCIS and Mary Sues. In that order.

omg. I can't breathe. she's... ::takes a moment to die of laughter.
I left a review, and she replied and thus earned herself an entry in my LJ.

mezzo_fic: Good Lord.

More reasons that I am sloooowly stepping away from ff.net..my fics are getting buried...only about 3-4 regulars are posting reviews for my last "epic"...which is BURIED under all the post-Twilight crap.

I thought ff.net was for persons like myself to get reviewed and learn how to hone their craft. I was wrong, I suppose...now, if I wanted to "OMG rite TATE 4-eva" and "hate MacGhee", I would probably get some attention...but I don't hate characters (esp. McGee!) and if I did I wouldn't remind everyone constantly in my reviews (which I though were supposed to be about the actual piece, NOT who the reviewer likes on the show)...but really, aren't reviews supposed to include constructive criticism??? Suggestions for improvement? Not simply "OMG rite mor of this u r so greate!!!!!!!!!"

featherxquill: Re: Good Lord.

People hate McGee? *knifes them* I bet they're all those twelve year olds who want to be like Abby just because she is goth.

I've largely abandoned ff.net simply becauseof all the crap. Suggestions: stick to LJ, most people who have figuredout communities and posting in the etc are sane and coherent enough to write good fic (actually, I don't think I've ever read a bad fic on LJ), and if you are looking for stuff on ff.net, follow your reviewers. If they like your work, they'll probably have some decent work of their own, or some favourites who are rather good.

I got stuck with a horrible keyboard the other night; the space bar and "k" both do not work unless you ram them. I didn't quite realise how much I use "k" until that point. I feel your pain.
